Bridging people

one community

at a time!

What we can accomplish

  • Decreases high school drop-out rate

  • Information on resources that help children reach career goals

  • Information on college programs that best fit student's goals

Community ONE, Inc. was created in 2013 by individuals looking to make a difference in education for at-risk students. Since its conception, three goals have remained clear: Exposing children to careers not seen in their neighborhoods, Reaching children who may not be as successful in traditional education, and create volunteer opportunities for people passionate about giving back but too busy to commit to a typical mentorship program.

Experiential education is on the rise and since not all kids learn the same - we've designed our programs to allow students to think like career professionals as opposed to simply hearing from them. We don't expect young children to make lifelong career decisions, but provide them with a context for their school learning, knowledge of careers and resources to achieve them, and positive attitudes that affect their future. We help children connect education to career success.

  • Opens dialogue about careers between children and parents

  • Reinforce positive attitudes about learning and school

  • Develop meaningful partnerships with the local community

  • Shows children context for school learning

Our mission

Community ONE, Inc. is an experiential learning non-profit that teaches at-risk kids about interesting careers by playing interactive games! We believe children who are aware of better options make better decisions. We also believe “play” is the best form of research so our educational programs are designed around fun. At Community ONE, Inc. kids don’t simply hear from career professionals – they become them!

our vision

Children can't reach for the stars if they live where stars aren't visible and don't know exist. Our vision is that every at-risk child become exposed to better options, more opportunities and inspiring people which leads to better decisions.

About us

what sets us apart

1. Experiential Learning: Games! Games! Games! We understand that not all kids learn the same so we use interactive games to get students to retain information.

2. Designed for busy professional:  Since we're not a traditional one-on-one mentorship we don't require much time from one mentor allowing many people with busy schedules to get involved. Instead of asking volunteers to commit hours every month our model relies on more mentors giving less time to produce the same positive results in a child's life.
